I think Protractor should have an option when closing a work order to create a "reminder" instead of actuallyt booking an apt. We deal with a lot of fleets and generally cannot prebook and apt due to not knowing their schedule so far out. As well as we are a fleet maintenance shop so it would be nice to have a reminder option to click for a future day so we can follow up with the client. We have integrated Autovitals. and since its labled as an apt it lets the customer know. It would be nice to avoid this and just have a future reminder that only we can see in the protractor schedule.

We refer to these as reservations and we send the ,reminders by email, text and phone call. We are very clear at checkout that we are scheduling a reservation for the vehicle's next service and will get in touch as the date approaches to firm up the details. If the client resists, we will go into more detail and explain that we need to have some idea of how the schedule looks on any given day. Maybe go into more details, like scheduling days off for staff, or hiring additional staff as needed. ect.
