New Label Printer
in progress
Darren Williams
It's taken a while to get this right and find a solution that doesn't rely on a specific brand like we had before, but we are getting closer to having our replacement ready. When we are a bit closer we will publish a list of printers we have tested with, but as you can see here I have been using an Arkscan 2054a with good results.

Darren Williams excellent!

Wondering the same thing. This would add sooooo much efficiency to our shop if we were able to print key tags.

Argonaut Garage The Dymo Printer works GREAT for key tags. Sure we have purchase the key tags that have our logo, Name and phone number on one side and we put the printed label on the other side. Although we can reuse the ones we pay for with our logo on the one side and stick another label on the other side, we have had keys mailed to us that customers have lost because of our key tag. Works great for us and such an efficiency saver. We also use the LOF stickers in the Dymo printer, in the bays, and although it works good, would be better to have the nicer labels that require a Zebra or equivalent printer.
Argonaut Garage
Robert Blaes get it and that sounds great! Thw problem mostly is that finding those dyno printers hard a very expensive.

Argonaut Garage Amazon Turbo 450. We have singles in the bays, just for LOF stickers, duals in the office; Advisors have LOF's and Key tag stickers, Other office personnel have key tag stickers and universal labels for mailing, box labels, misc. works well for us, just would prefer an easier better looking LOF sticker, like what comes out of the Zebra printer.

Coming up on 1 year since marked "in progress" and about 5 years from when it should have been done. Echoing others here; what is the plan; what printers are you trying to support; and most importantly - when will we see it completed??????
Wil Hudson
Just checking in on the status of the label printer. Appreciate all that Protractor is doing.

Will Zebra be supported? Darren Williams

This has been marked as IN PROGRESS since March 3, 2024. What is the timeline of this to be completed? Our shop is looking to purchase a label printer but we don't know what will or will not work once this request is completed.
And what will "completed" look like?
Gerald Martin asked, "Could we know more about what is planned? We hope that there is a broader plan than just newer Dymo support considering their anti-competitive stance of requiring OEM brand labels...and we hope that any new option provided will be compatible with DuraReady labels which we love."
I agree with his input and would like to know more so we can plan accordingly.
