Inventory Items Out of Stock
Jason Brown
When adding an oil filter (for example) from inventory - you go to inventory check tab to look up. But if the item is out of stock (regardless you have a case on the floor that just came in) the Service advisor scrolls right by it because its not highlighted. Can we have that little green flag under availibility show red and if you hover it will show 0 or Neg 1 Etc.. Would save SA's from ordering unnecessary parts at higher costs...
Also if our other locations have it - show that instantly (vs doing an inventory transfer lookup .

I'm not following this correctly. What does Red mean? Red means it simply has an Inventory record, but not in stock? or Red means it has been ordered?
I have lots of inventory records that have High Order set to zero, which means we are not actively ordering this unit. So showing those is not interesting to me. Maybe we can refine this meaning to be more clear.
Would this work for you? Or do you have a different vision?
Green, In stock,
Blue, In stock, but at other locations,
Yellow, not in stock, but ordered
Red, not in stock, but not ordered
No Flag, Inventory Record exists with High = 0 or No Inventory Record exists

Brian Pellerin - Thanks for the reply - yes this is only for items that are minimum 1 or above. For example we order stock (Inventory that we keep in the store - wipers, filters, bulbs etc) once every week or so - so this is only for those items.
I love your idea of Blue in stock but at other locations.
I would propose
Green in stock
Blue in stock but other locations
Yellow - Stocking item Below the min stocking level.
Just to clarify - this is only when you are doing a catalog lookup of your typical stocking items. If there are no flags showing - just to the next tab over and order from your local vendor. Make sense?
