Discount Reports

Discount reports are not in Protractor. Invoice summary shows amounts discounted for parts, labor and sublet, but they don't show you the reason for the discount(which can be setup in the settings). It would be nice to have a report dedicated for discounts so you can easily see why the discount was given and then drill down from there. Need to know if your team is discounting and costing the company money when they shouldn't be. Have to do a manual audit the way the reports are setup now and this can be very time consuming. Why have the discount reason in the settings if you can not see those reasons easily? Maybe I'm missing something

The way we do it is creating a separate Profit Center with a category for Discounts, Promotions, and Warranties. Then we have a separate Service Package in each category for each Promotion, each Reason for a Discount, and each reason for a Warranty. However if the warranty is due to a technician or supplier we use the warranty in the Service Package drop down on the work order. If you are doing it the other way you can create a list of reasons in set up and there is a report that will show you that where you can group by reason. There is a Training Tour under Work Order Discounts called Discounts Using Service Package and Service Category. With Protractors great reporting features, either of these work well. For us, having the separate Profit Center and setting up Categories and Service Packages works the best. They show in the Vitals and the drill down or Service Package Sales report gives a lot of great information.
