Deferred work - Recommendations

This is a big one, wish they would get on it.... I agree both we need to see deferred work pop up at time of appointment as well as create a ro at same time as booking

We also create build work orders right away after appointment booking but there is a lot of items to click through to get to the deferred work. My suggestion would be to have all deferred work for the vehicle show as a list on the appointment window once the vehicle is selected.

I do not share this concern, but that could just be my process. We surface deferred work to customers every time we make an appt. It does require creating a work order at the time of the appt. (with the customer on the phone). Most customers called you when they had time to talk, so it's an ideal time for them to be on the phone while you write up the work order and see everything their vehicle is due for. It's also super efficient for the advisors to have all ROs already written in the mornings. At the time of the appt creation, one uses the work order wizard and enters estimated current mileage, and Protractor surfaces to you any deferred items and reminder items that are due. We import all deferred items to the work order on every RO and if the customer doesn't want them, we re-defer them. This way, after we do an inspection in the current visit, we don't estimate items that are already deferred because we can see those items already in the deferred tab. This process is pretty fool proof. If we don't have time to create an RO while on the phone with the customer, we keep a list of appts needing ROs, and create them a little later. If at that time there are deferred items, we email/text them to customers with a request for authorization. The appt/RO creation portion of an advisor's job is one of the most critical points in which we need to slow down and get right. It sets up our schedule for success with less cars, higher AROs, and better served customers.

When you book the appointment and go search for the contact/vehicle right click on the vehicle and hit Edit you can then open the deferred work. Before you finalize the appointment.

Creating a Deferred work call sheet for Advisors/managers/Sales folks would be optimal. Need access to client, vehicle, summary back to invoice, and ability to make a new appointment from deferred work call sheet that will "Remedy" work on list. Also will need ability to click "Remedy" from call sheet as we work through them. Ok....white board time....let's go!

Agree, the deferred work should be easy to see and access. I struggled for the first bit trying to really understand where it went- unsure if it was a glitch or if I was truly doing something wrong.

Yes! It is there as you are setting up the vehicle but if you are flying (like most of us are) it is easy to miss. Also, if we pull up a vehicle from contacts, it'd be nice to see more readily deferred work that is actually still to be done.
