Alert for existing estimates with contact name and at write up

This has been an issue when there is an existing estimate in the system and the person who initially wrote it is unavailable and someone else is helping that customer. That should be front and center! Many times, it causes duplicates, which wastes employee time and creates confusion. At minimum, an alert of some type should be included with any deferred work alerts. But both should be raised in importance to the FIRST step of customer interaction.

This was added in the last release. You can have existing estimates prompt when creating a new estimate or work order with the below settings. Right now it will display estimates from the last 30 days, but we are open to feedback on expanding that date range. We did not want a large estimate list to slow down work order load times until we have some feedback.

Darren Williams can you describe in what scenarios each box would be used? I'm not clear on this.

Darren Williams we would prefer 6 months as the minimum for flagging on open estimates, 30 days is nothing in our world (we book almost 30 days out in our shop currently). We find that most people don't decide in 30 days to fix something that is done as just an estimate that it's typically a few months.

Hey Ken, we have this as an approved request. We want it to prompt that there are existing estimates similar to how you get a duplicate WO or appointment notice currently.

Darren Williams: Great! Did I miss this on the list somewhere?
Darren Williams
Ken Anderson: No, it's from the old list before Canny.
