Alert for Exceeding Authorized Amount

We’d like to request an alert when a work order total exceeds the authorized amount—ideally with a visual indicator, such as a color change, on the Prioritization screen for quick recognition.
As repairs progress, it’s common to uncover additional work necessary to complete the job properly. These added items are often entered through PartsTech, and there’s usually a window of time to contact the customer for additional approval before the parts arrive.
However, with automated status updates, customers are often notified that their vehicle is ready before anyone realizes the work order has exceeded the original authorization.
An alert in advance would give us the opportunity to reach out for approval while the vehicle is still in progress, rather than revising the total at checkout—where the service advisor often feels pressured to discount heavily in order to avoid conflict.
Catching this earlier would protect both our workflow and our gross profit.
