Ability to add 2 techs to 1 labour line
Scott Dana
Yes, looking for this to be added to the system. Exactly what Scott Wilkie said.

A good idea would be able to have one labor line then be able to allocate time to specific Techs. This would be similar to what we do in an Enterprise when adding a Bill and want to allocate to different Locations or Accounts.

Do we currently have a drop-down option to “Duplicate Labor Item” quickly? (Not near my computer to check at the moment)

we as well have jobs that 2 or 3 tire guys work on it. it would be nice to know who can be questioned about the job.

I believe that if you add a second labor to the same job it will still print as 1 labor line for the customer. Ex. If you have a labor job with 2 hour. Right click and add a labor line. Put both labor lines at 1 hour each and assign tech 1 to the first labor line and tech 2 to the second labor line at 1 hour each (if that is the amount of work they did). This allows you to assign the labor to each tech but it should print as 2 hours of labor on the customer copy without any breakdown, at least it does for me.
Shane Cassiani
This only works if you add a second labor line to the same job. If you add a second job of course the print out will show both jobs and labor line. Or if you are already doing this, is there something in the print settings that needs to be adjusted?

This would be a huge improvement for our shop as well.
Darren Williams
There's an option in print documents to combine consecutive labor lines. Having that enabled makes it so the customer only sees a single labor line.

Darren Williams: having to add several labor lines and assign techs to each one splitting the time per line (especially if you have a set amount you quoted someone) is painstaking for the service advisors. several times we have jobs split but because it is such a job to split this up on the work order we just designate one main tech for the job, but this is a problem when it comes to calculating tech hours. if other software programs have this ability, i dont understand how hard it would be for you to be able to implement it in this system.
Darren Williams
Hi Joe and Robert, my comment is in response to Scott's comment that it makes a work order look messy. I didn't comment to anything about difficulty.

Darren Williams: thanks Darren I will check this out tomorrow.

Don't just limit it to 2, as many as you need would be great. and to be able to split the labor however we need (50/50 or 75/25, 30/30/40, etc) there are several other programs out there that have this ability and it makes the service advisors job so much easier. especially if you pay the techs based on production hours.
